Robert Greenwood: Session Leader / Moderator

WHY
One of the things that has become increasingly obvious over the past ten years, is the fact that showcasing artists, all artists need to be more aware of their image to the presenters. Often the slightest thing can lose a booking, turn a presenter off, make that audience member uncomfortable - and often they don’t realize why they are turned off.

It’s our job as artists to know and to know how to make the presenters know who we are, what we do and how we do it to the best of our abilities - in all areas - not just in the area of our specific talent. We have to know more about every aspect of our art.

By realizing that our legacy in the arts is not simply our specific gift but the entire presentation of that gift - from the shoes up as it were... We cannot afford to overlook any detail, and we cannot afford to complain, make excuses or ignore the human needs of presenters, management or ourselves as artists. We have to become more aware of how we look, how we sound, what we say, how we say it, what we hand out, etc. etc. etc.

None of us is so old or vain that we cannot learn more about our profession and our professionalism. We cannot afford vanity or arrogance or ego. We are in the business of making the arts essential and available to the world.
